The Path or A Game
I remember the look in your eye
I never should have said a word
To break my dreaming illusion
You promised me more than you had
For the sake of a stolen moment
But I didn't care
Though it would be enough
But your deceit, my pain
Cut more than any blade I draw.
Told me you cared
I took you lie cos I thought I knew
The game you tried to play.
Knew I could turn it all around
And for one moment I did
Till you smiled again
Then I knew I was lost
Cos my love beat stronger
Than any knowledge I had gained
Thought I could play your game
End up on top
Or at least still sane
But you turned me mad
A rabid beast
Caught in your stare
I never should have said a word
To break my dreaming illusion
You promised me more than you had
For the sake of a stolen moment
But I didn't care
Though it would be enough
But your deceit, my pain
Cut more than any blade I draw.
Told me you cared
I took you lie cos I thought I knew
The game you tried to play.
Knew I could turn it all around
And for one moment I did
Till you smiled again
Then I knew I was lost
Cos my love beat stronger
Than any knowledge I had gained
Thought I could play your game
End up on top
Or at least still sane
But you turned me mad
A rabid beast
Caught in your stare
