Back to the city
The rolling hills before me,
Replace the city walls,
And sounds not heard in London
Assault my deafened ears,
Replacing cars and motorways
Are long uncluttered paths
And horses left to graze
The peace outside,
Transfered to calm my racing heart
An infusion of tranquility,
I could pass my life among the hills,
Alas such peace must end
For we are not a sedantary race,
Back to my granite hills I must return,
And hope for better days to come
When all is said and done...
Replace the city walls,
And sounds not heard in London
Assault my deafened ears,
Replacing cars and motorways
Are long uncluttered paths
And horses left to graze
The peace outside,
Transfered to calm my racing heart
An infusion of tranquility,
I could pass my life among the hills,
Alas such peace must end
For we are not a sedantary race,
Back to my granite hills I must return,
And hope for better days to come
When all is said and done...
