A Darkened Figure
You hide in your corners
Darkness reacting to your thoughts
Cloaking you in emptiness,
You’ve learnt to stand alone
No human can enter your domain,
You’ve learnt that humanity
Is not a symptom of the human condition
But rather a word to cover all their sin,
It allows for forgiveness,
It allows for genocide,
It allows your solitude.
Life has taught you new ways of thinking,
And words twist and morph within your mind
You have no need of guns or knives,
For every blow you’ve ever landed
Has been dealt by your cruel tongue,
And while you stand in darkness
Your shadow smiles in the light,
A large, deceiving smile,
