A Shadow in the Night
I was your shadow in the night,
Always there to catch you when you fell
But you stumbled less and less
Until one night we never touched
I stood and watched you fly in the light
Where shadows have no life,
Felt my breath stutter and fade
You had no more use for your shade,
There was a time I couldn’t feel anything but you
There were moments I felt cold outside your life
There were days I crumbled, broken from your indifference,
I’m stronger now, I’m older now,
I’ve run further now.
When you call I don’t answer
When you pop up on my life stream
I ignore what you like, where you comment
When you try, finally, at last I see the game
