A Road Away
The road outside
Once gleaming with fresh tar
Brilling with potential life
Now lies broken, pot holed
Twisting an endless path
Leading to my forgotten home
Where I stare at it
Wondering when life's hope
Abandoned this small glade,
Trying to fill the empty space
Within my soul, that screams
With and infinit rage,
It beckons me to end its pain
Take the last remaining road
Out of my secret home,
Obliging I step out
Into my metal chariot,
Taking the wheel
One last time
For one last ride
Wheels turning
I pass on forward
Never looking back
Slung about by the aged path
Feeling each jolt
Remove a part of history
Forever closing the path
To what once was
And never again can be.
Once gleaming with fresh tar
Brilling with potential life
Now lies broken, pot holed
Twisting an endless path
Leading to my forgotten home
Where I stare at it
Wondering when life's hope
Abandoned this small glade,
Trying to fill the empty space
Within my soul, that screams
With and infinit rage,
It beckons me to end its pain
Take the last remaining road
Out of my secret home,
Obliging I step out
Into my metal chariot,
Taking the wheel
One last time
For one last ride
Wheels turning
I pass on forward
Never looking back
Slung about by the aged path
Feeling each jolt
Remove a part of history
Forever closing the path
To what once was
And never again can be.
