Flying High
I remember when I could soar
Without my wings my soul is torn
Among the clouds I could be found
Now my wings are clipped and bound
A shatered visage in the mirror
Where chains sparkle and glimmer
A half remembered dream
Till I am lost in an endless scream
Every shread of my humanity
Was tied up in one mass calamity
How much longer must I sit and wait?
I feel my chains breaking of late
Hoping this is at last fate
Come to free me from earths tyrant hand
As I struggle to stand
The earth my mother
Cruel and wicked snagging my roots
So I will ne're be free
I crave those wings
That other part of me
To once again soar free
Among the parting clouds...
Without my wings my soul is torn
Among the clouds I could be found
Now my wings are clipped and bound
A shatered visage in the mirror
Where chains sparkle and glimmer
A half remembered dream
Till I am lost in an endless scream
Every shread of my humanity
Was tied up in one mass calamity
How much longer must I sit and wait?
I feel my chains breaking of late
Hoping this is at last fate
Come to free me from earths tyrant hand
As I struggle to stand
The earth my mother
Cruel and wicked snagging my roots
So I will ne're be free
I crave those wings
That other part of me
To once again soar free
Among the parting clouds...
