Distant memory
There's a time in your life
There's a time in your heart
When the things you know
Begin to break apart,
And the sorrow you've had
Flies away on the wind,
The love that you've know
Dies alone in the cold,
And it's then that you see
All you ever can be
Is a distant memory
So your cards are laid out
And the wages all laid,
The pocket ace you had
Lying dead before you,
The one that you face
Laughing coldly at you
Flauting all that you knew
And all of your dreams
His royal house
Destroying you,
There's a time in your life
There's a time in your heart
When the things that you know
Begin to break apart
And the laughter you gave
Sings a mocking tune
To the pain that you feel,
Pictures suck in your soul
Telling lies of old
Where once you were happy
With all of life's games
Cos at the end of the day
You knew where you stood
When you open your mouth
Words are stolen away
And the people you love
Have left you alone,
Promises everlasting
Fading into obscurity
Your Mother's love
Fled to the vaste beyond
Your Father's love
Staying close to home,
And at the end of the day
You are all alone
There's a time in your life,
There's a time in your heart,
When you understand
Of what your a part,
Ties of blood
Long abandonned
In the harsh reality
Of selfish love,
And the sins of flesh
Have beaten you down
When the ones trusted
Took innocence for granted,
And the family you loved
Has drifted in death
Paying their sins
With their mortal flesh
When you open your eyes
Just an empty space
A heartless culling of despair
And it's then that you know
And it's then that you see
All you can ever be
Is a distant memory
