Falling on the Wind
You, Me and the empty world,
We flew through the sky,
On paper wings,
Hands outstretched, grasping fingertips
Slipping away,
Caught on an updraft, soaring away,
Away from you, my wings, torn,
Burning as I fly by the sun,
Doesn't matter that I'm falling to the ground,
Cos your fingertips let go,
Long before I began my fall,
I was just a passing swallow,
Caught on your tailwind,
And you flew away
Spinning me out of control,
Beginning my downward spiral,
Into the looming earth,
Crashing by tall mountain peaks,
Smashing into the peaceful valley lake,
Floating on my back.
Darkness flooding my vision,
Seeing you far above,
Navigating those drafts,
Strong, powerful beats,
Measuring my heart,
Lost in the clouds,
Clinging to your tail,
Fading lights,
Your harsh cry,
Darkness
We flew through the sky,
On paper wings,
Hands outstretched, grasping fingertips
Slipping away,
Caught on an updraft, soaring away,
Away from you, my wings, torn,
Burning as I fly by the sun,
Doesn't matter that I'm falling to the ground,
Cos your fingertips let go,
Long before I began my fall,
I was just a passing swallow,
Caught on your tailwind,
And you flew away
Spinning me out of control,
Beginning my downward spiral,
Into the looming earth,
Crashing by tall mountain peaks,
Smashing into the peaceful valley lake,
Floating on my back.
Darkness flooding my vision,
Seeing you far above,
Navigating those drafts,
Strong, powerful beats,
Measuring my heart,
Lost in the clouds,
Clinging to your tail,
Fading lights,
Your harsh cry,
Darkness
