Laughing at you and me
You know I laughed when I walked away
You told me never to come back
If I walked out that door
And I couldn't hold it in, not anymore,
After all you'd done, all your words
They just slipped by me now,
So don't worry your little head about me
Looked after me'self long before you
Came into my life, fitting this is how it ends
Looking at how this farce began,
A twisted romance from the start,
Hated you, hated me, together
Thats how you said it was gonna be
And I didn't have the strenth
To fight such conviction
In truth I never really tried
The power of your words thrilled me
Such certainty in a man, I'd never seen,
So I took your hand and started walking
Down the road that led to yesterday
Now today, the world is different
There is no more you and me
Don't think there ever was, not really,
Your words, your ultimatum
Weren't the barriers you'd hoped they'd be
But rather I laughed because you set me free
You told me never to come back
If I walked out that door
And I couldn't hold it in, not anymore,
After all you'd done, all your words
They just slipped by me now,
So don't worry your little head about me
Looked after me'self long before you
Came into my life, fitting this is how it ends
Looking at how this farce began,
A twisted romance from the start,
Hated you, hated me, together
Thats how you said it was gonna be
And I didn't have the strenth
To fight such conviction
In truth I never really tried
The power of your words thrilled me
Such certainty in a man, I'd never seen,
So I took your hand and started walking
Down the road that led to yesterday
Now today, the world is different
There is no more you and me
Don't think there ever was, not really,
Your words, your ultimatum
Weren't the barriers you'd hoped they'd be
But rather I laughed because you set me free
