Lost
She never knew the world
Only that one cruel smile
And dank forgotten room
She has no name
This phantom child
No sparkle to the eye
That says she once was loved
Once found they thought
With love, care and happiness
She would understand
And weep for joy
At her release
She understood
She wept
But not for joy
And rather pain
That she had been forgotten
And still they could not comprehend
She then knew
Who she was
What she was
And why they acted so
Their guilt to her
Their debt to her
One she would not accept
So one day she left
Leaving a note upon the side
"I will not take away
The guilt you hold,
I will not let your sould be clean
For mine is empty"
She passed through life
Never seeing anything around
Her purpose long fufilled
To that same man
Who cruelly smilled
Once upon a time.
Only that one cruel smile
And dank forgotten room
She has no name
This phantom child
No sparkle to the eye
That says she once was loved
Once found they thought
With love, care and happiness
She would understand
And weep for joy
At her release
She understood
She wept
But not for joy
And rather pain
That she had been forgotten
And still they could not comprehend
She then knew
Who she was
What she was
And why they acted so
Their guilt to her
Their debt to her
One she would not accept
So one day she left
Leaving a note upon the side
"I will not take away
The guilt you hold,
I will not let your sould be clean
For mine is empty"
She passed through life
Never seeing anything around
Her purpose long fufilled
To that same man
Who cruelly smilled
Once upon a time.
