The window from my mind
To whom do we bow?
In this world of chains
To whom do we pray?
Among this anarchy
I stare with empty eyes
At the darkness beyond
A window fogged in confusion
Eyes lost in the illusions
I see the gate
From whence I came
I see the coffin
To which I am born
Among these fools
Playing a silent parade
I lift my hand
And watch my fingers
Dance across the page
From them
Letters poor
Leaving me sad and confused
I try to understand
The pain filling my heart
But every time I say ok
I get the point,
Move on,
Something else happens
And once again
I am at square one
So I pretend
Everything is ok
I smile at everyone
I laugh when they laugh
And keep the tears
Locked behind a shattered heart
My dead eyes
Battling the illusions
The only things
That cry out to the world
But no-one sees
No one cares anymore
So I look on
Through the fogged window
At the world
And watch it pass me by
As I sit trapped
Within the confines of my mind...
In this world of chains
To whom do we pray?
Among this anarchy
I stare with empty eyes
At the darkness beyond
A window fogged in confusion
Eyes lost in the illusions
I see the gate
From whence I came
I see the coffin
To which I am born
Among these fools
Playing a silent parade
I lift my hand
And watch my fingers
Dance across the page
From them
Letters poor
Leaving me sad and confused
I try to understand
The pain filling my heart
But every time I say ok
I get the point,
Move on,
Something else happens
And once again
I am at square one
So I pretend
Everything is ok
I smile at everyone
I laugh when they laugh
And keep the tears
Locked behind a shattered heart
My dead eyes
Battling the illusions
The only things
That cry out to the world
But no-one sees
No one cares anymore
So I look on
Through the fogged window
At the world
And watch it pass me by
As I sit trapped
Within the confines of my mind...
