Leaving You
I left you sitting on the bed
My bags lined up ready to go
I stood by the window
A lone tear, marking me
A small smile spared for you
But I am still leaving
With me I take our three years
Long enough to love
To short for arguments
But I'm still leaving
Walking out that door
I felt new life filling me
I know we'll meet
From time to time
Crossing paths, never one
Still the world is before me
And I'm taking my leap
Leaving your memory
In a loved but disgarded heap,
I saw you yesterday
Leaving a sleazy cinema
Arm flung over my imitation
And turned away, ashamed
You lie on your bed
Flinging pictures at the wall
Wondering if they will burn
Wondering if you have the courage
To move on
See the world
Love again...
My bags lined up ready to go
I stood by the window
A lone tear, marking me
A small smile spared for you
But I am still leaving
With me I take our three years
Long enough to love
To short for arguments
But I'm still leaving
Walking out that door
I felt new life filling me
I know we'll meet
From time to time
Crossing paths, never one
Still the world is before me
And I'm taking my leap
Leaving your memory
In a loved but disgarded heap,
I saw you yesterday
Leaving a sleazy cinema
Arm flung over my imitation
And turned away, ashamed
You lie on your bed
Flinging pictures at the wall
Wondering if they will burn
Wondering if you have the courage
To move on
See the world
Love again...
