Lessons in Pain
I'm looking at the clouds
Building my castle in the sky
Is this really the only way? Why?
Wondering why you force me from the ground
Into this blinding sky
Where every shaky step
Sees my feet falling through those clouds,
Been forced to build this fort
Away from humanity, from you,
But that blow to the face
Blew my illusions away,
Now I see only the shaking roof,
The drying blood,
Your littany of words
Sprayed before me,
Congealing on the floor,
But still I loved you,
Seemed each day more and more
Because you took the time
To POUND life's lessons
Into this ungrateful child,
Now that the child is dead,
Now that the adult lives,
I still love you
For teaching me the lessons,
Saying I wasn't worthy of attention,
Showing me as you pushed me from humanity
That humanity does not exits in men,
The delusion of hope and justice,
Fade into obscurity
As age settles on our shoulders,
So I love you, father,
For teaching me the way
Of everything about,
So that I may never be disapointed
When I see the dimming moon
And the sun that does not rise
Amidst a world falling to decay.
Building my castle in the sky
Is this really the only way? Why?
Wondering why you force me from the ground
Into this blinding sky
Where every shaky step
Sees my feet falling through those clouds,
Been forced to build this fort
Away from humanity, from you,
But that blow to the face
Blew my illusions away,
Now I see only the shaking roof,
The drying blood,
Your littany of words
Sprayed before me,
Congealing on the floor,
But still I loved you,
Seemed each day more and more
Because you took the time
To POUND life's lessons
Into this ungrateful child,
Now that the child is dead,
Now that the adult lives,
I still love you
For teaching me the lessons,
Saying I wasn't worthy of attention,
Showing me as you pushed me from humanity
That humanity does not exits in men,
The delusion of hope and justice,
Fade into obscurity
As age settles on our shoulders,
So I love you, father,
For teaching me the way

So that I may never be disapointed
When I see the dimming moon
And the sun that does not rise
Amidst a world falling to decay.
