Walk With Me
I get angry when people tell me to grow up
They say life's no game, age has driven youth away,
Their council falls on covered ears
Cos they don't really understand me
They don't know what makes my tick
I want to yell at them that
" You don't see the pain of a broken home,
Laid a mother, a father, a sister too
Into the cold, clamy earth,
You just see the smile I have
For ever person that I meet,"
I look out the window
See life passing me by
Lost in this slipstream
Of a time I don't see
But the smile is cracked
The window smudged
The little never ending clues
Of a soul who's see too much
From time to time
I have to stop my hollow scream
Cos I know it has no sound,
Years of having to creep around
Body glued to the wall
Making sure I'm not in the way
Have conditioned this body of mine
To make no sound,
However fierce the pain
So to your words of 'wisdom'
I offer only my middle finger,
If you can walk an hour
In my shoes and through my past,
Then I'll take your words to heart
Till then I just gotta muddle along
Find my own way.
They say life's no game, age has driven youth away,
Their council falls on covered ears
Cos they don't really understand me
They don't know what makes my tick
I want to yell at them that
" You don't see the pain of a broken home,
Laid a mother, a father, a sister too
Into the cold, clamy earth,
You just see the smile I have
For ever person that I meet,"
I look out the window
See life passing me by
Lost in this slipstream
Of a time I don't see
But the smile is cracked
The window smudged
The little never ending clues
Of a soul who's see too much
From time to time
I have to stop my hollow scream
Cos I know it has no sound,
Years of having to creep around
Body glued to the wall
Making sure I'm not in the way
Have conditioned this body of mine
To make no sound,
However fierce the pain
So to your words of 'wisdom'
I offer only my middle finger,
If you can walk an hour
In my shoes and through my past,
Then I'll take your words to heart
Till then I just gotta muddle along
Find my own way.
