Summer love, man or woman
When people speak of summer lovesWhen days went on and on
My thoughts drift to a year
Unlike any I had ever seen,
A summer love is there
For all our pleasures to be laid bare
Days and nights filled with experimentation
I first saw him, working behind a counter
Serving coffees and late croissants
He spoke no english but every word
Unttered in silky French sent shivers
Down my seated, flaming body,
We dated as all good people do
Sat about in leisure and bantered words,
I think for a brief time I loved him
Not I suppose the everlasting kind
Rather, a quiet, peaceful love
That calms dis-jointed souls,
Here was a man who understood me
But did not think we would be forever
Had no expectations on my person
Made no bold proclamations for my heart
And heard each and every word I spoke
This was my summer, year long, love
But then the year drew to its close
My bags packed ready to go,
So he took me to the mountains
Made a memory for me
Held me as I struggled to ski
Taught me how to walk
Taught me how to glide, be free,
Then introduced me to his family,
Ending a year of bliss
He said it had to end
For he could hold no one
Over his sisters joy,
One week before I had to go,
His sister invited me to share a drink
And through the course of one short night
I saw another part of life,
His shunning of me for her pleasure
Explained the strange gift of me to her
Desires,pleasure and dreams
That I had never dared to think
Opened another world for me,
In her I found self beauty,
I learned how to make a women
Quiver with unspent lust,
Fall beneath me begging for release,
There I found myself reborn
To love and desire
Adam's and Eve's, no distinction
Only primal diistinctions
