Fire and Hope
So here you are, at the crossroad
Of life, everything’s clearing
Making way for your requiem,
Soon the month will fade into another
April, and, once again you find yourself alone,
The parents you so resented, scattered,
Part of nature herself, Ashes,
So you go to the fire, sit,
Put pen to paper and write your final
Adieu, to the world you never knew,
Didn’t want to anyway, cos’ what
Was there left for you ?
But here, here is the crossroad
That so baffles you, the fire
That burns too hot and bright, blinds you
Now, and always, thought it would be easy ,
Walking into the fire, burning away to dust,
Ashes joining those waiting above, but no,
The heat sears your scalding flesh, sand
Crinkled at the fire’s edge, You who is me,
Two different beings caught in one moment,
Steping forward, fire and wind, dust and hope,
Scattered across the dunes
Of life, everything’s clearing
Making way for your requiem,
Soon the month will fade into another
April, and, once again you find yourself alone,
The parents you so resented, scattered,
Part of nature herself, Ashes,
So you go to the fire, sit,
Put pen to paper and write your final
Adieu, to the world you never knew,
Didn’t want to anyway, cos’ what
Was there left for you ?
But here, here is the crossroad
That so baffles you, the fire
That burns too hot and bright, blinds you
Now, and always, thought it would be easy ,
Walking into the fire, burning away to dust,
Ashes joining those waiting above, but no,
The heat sears your scalding flesh, sand
Crinkled at the fire’s edge, You who is me,
Two different beings caught in one moment,
Steping forward, fire and wind, dust and hope,
Scattered across the dunes
