On Parting
Catching tear drops in my handSo they don't hit your face
Lying so peacefully besides me,
Tomorrow we will say goodbye
But will I ever let you go?
You used to be a burden,
A reluctant relationship
Turned into a passionate love,
I said I'd come when you flew away
But now I can only cry
My silent, trembling goodbye
I watch time tick away
And think what a waste
This time spent sleeping is,
Tomorrow night I will be alone
And you, you will be home,
You asked me to come
Leave everything behind for you,
You and this growing love,
Everything in me said go,
But here I am rising,
Preparing to face a day alone,
