A thought
I thought I could be happy
If I saw you fall before me
But now all I am is empty
My happiness sucked dry
Into the gaping void of death
I thought I could be free
If you were gone
But your words haunt every step
Shadow every move I take
I thought I could live
If I could run fast enough
To get away from everything
You did to me
Instead, now, I am alone
Your hate won out
The soul so pure
Fresh for untold life
Destroyed, laid out
To burn under your scorn
If I saw you fall before me
But now all I am is empty
My happiness sucked dry
Into the gaping void of death
I thought I could be free
If you were gone
But your words haunt every step
Shadow every move I take
I thought I could live
If I could run fast enough
To get away from everything
You did to me
Instead, now, I am alone
Your hate won out
The soul so pure
Fresh for untold life
Destroyed, laid out
To burn under your scorn
