Time
Mountains rise and fall,Days come and go
Life is born and dies
Under one banner, Time,
If all we have
Is all we're given
Then where do we stand?
Sometimes I think I lie
Beneath a sky of blood,
Where every drop of rain
Paints me in life's death
Other times I think I fly
Above an earth of fire,
Where every step
Flays me bare,
Still it's time that moves me
From the burning earth
To horrifying sky,
An infant caught in time
Looped over and over and over,
Nothing but a child to Time,
One left, abandoned, lost
But we can't escape,
We are never forgotten,
In the end we're always found
Under whatever lean to we've erected
To protect us from the ravages
Of an entity that knows no bounds
That understand no love or pity
That only sees an ending
To things we never asked for
To life we never took,
Time so beautiful and dangerous,
The only friend we ever keep,
That follows us from pain to pain
That comforts us from love to love,
They say time heals all pains
But we're never told
What hand it had in beating us,
We're never told how futile
Every single battle is,
So I think now I will sit back,
Let time play its game
And see where I end up
When all accounts are cleared
And all my days have come and gone
Then at my end
With my two, human, hands
I will take my due
But force, in fire and blood,
Time at its end will have nothing over me
