Your Shadows Glory...
If you thought today was it
Then open obstinate eyes,
I walk in eternal sunlight
But my eyes are shaded by doubt,
I wish reality could bend at will,
Wish time would stand still,
Just long enough for me to feel,
As every face whose hand I’d dealt
Flashed and slid past eyes
Which hold a chilling glaze,
The camera’s flash is history
And those sparkles, blinding,
Hide the smile you held,
Wishes turn to nightmares
When every hand you extend
Is taken with such care
You feel the world is one with you
And that the earth signs of love,
But your own hand
Scuffled in the mud
Flies untaken in the pouring sky,
When those you held up
Disappear with new found strength
So you stand in your sun rays,
Surrounded by the beauty you nurtured
Trapped in your own shadows greatness
Suffocating in your songs of cheer
For the world forgot your help,
Friends spurned your efforts
Denying you the strength you lent them,
Stealing it for their own pleasure,
You stand in your shadow
Surround in glory
Surrounded in love
You stand in your shadow...
